RBI Grade B 2023 Selection Process
RBI Grade B 2023 Exam is conducted
in three phases, while the Prelims examination is Objective in nature while the
Mains examination would comprise of the objective as well as descriptive test
- Phase-I exam
- Phase-II exam and
- Interview process
RBI Grade B 2023 Exam Pattern
Candidates are required to clear all
three phases in order to get a confirmed post as a Grade B Officer in the
Reserve Bank of India.
RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern
The prelims exam of RBI Grade-B
Officer 2023 comprises a single Paper for 200 marks. A total time of 120
minutes will be given for answering. However, separate time will be allotted
for each test.

the interview, based on aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II and

RBI Grade B 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are required to follow
the given criteria (as per the previous year RBI Grade B Notification) to be
eligible for RBI Grade B 2023 Exam:
RBI Grade B Citizenship & Nationality
• Must be a citizen of India
• Must be a subject of Nepal
• Must be a subject of Bhutan
• Must be a Tibetan Refugee who came
to India before 1st January 1962 and has the intention of settling permanently
in India.
• A person of Indian origin migrated
from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United
Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi,
Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in
India.
RBI Grade B Age Limit
RBI has defined minimum age criteria
for appearing in the RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination. Candidates are
required to be aged between 21 years and 30 years (both age included) to apply
for RBI Grade B exam 2023. For candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D.
qualifications, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.

reserved category will be provided relaxation in their upper age as per the
rules decided by the Board.

/Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks

aggregate of all semesters / years. Note: • Any such full-time course from a
recognised University / Institute that is taken after Class XIIth and is at
least of 3 years’ duration/ candidates possessing professional and technical
qualifications which are recognised by the Government as equivalent to
professional and technical graduation will be eligible for admission to the
examination. • Candidates who have passed the
Final Examination for Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
India may also apply for the post. OR • Any such full-time course from a
recognised University / Institute that is taken after graduation and is at
least of 2 years’ duration / recognised by the Government as equivalent to

• Essential: a. A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics /
Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics
Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in
aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign
University /Institute. OR b. PGDM/ MBA Finance with a
minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters
/years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. OR c. Master’s Degree in Economics in
any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/
developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent
grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or
Foreign University /Institute d. (i) Candidates having Master's
Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign
University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to
the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of
three years. For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned. |

Essential: a. A Master's Degree in
Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/
Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics &
Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade
in aggregate of all semesters / years. OR b. Master's Degree in Mathematics
with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all
semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related
subjects from an Institute of repute. OR c. M. Stat. Degree of Indian
Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all
semesters / years. OR d. Post Graduate Diploma in
Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and
IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of
all semesters/years. |
RBI Grade B Number of Attempts
The number of attempts for a general
candidate to appear for the RBI Grade B Exam is 6 (six) while for
SC/ST/PWD/EXSM there is no limit for appearing in the exam unless they reach
the maximum age level.
RBI Grade B Salary 2023
The Pay Scale for the RBI Grade B
Officer is Rs. 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750(16
years). This means that you will be having basic pay of Rs. 55,200/-
in which you will get an increment of Rs. 2850/- up till nine years of your
service. After the completion of nine years, you will get into the executive
band wherein the basic pay will be Rs. 80850/- and then again for the next two
years you will get an increment of Rs. 2850/- and further an increment of Rs.
3300/- for the following 4 years thus ending up with the basic pay of Rs.
99,750/- and this is when you don't get any promotion. Apart from the
Basic Pay, multiple emoluments such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent
Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc.
will also be provided.

The RBI Grade B Admit Card 2023 will
be released separately for both Phase-I and Phase-II exams. The admit card for
Phase-II Exam will be issued to candidates who have qualified for the Phase-I
exam of RBI Grade B. RBI will be releasing RBI Grade B Admit Card on its
official website and candidates will not be sent RBI Grade B Call Letters
through mail or post.

RBI Grade B 2023 Result
The results for RBI Grade B 2023
Exam will be released after the completion of each phase of the exam. A
candidate is required to qualify for both Phase-I and Phase-II exams to get a
chance to sit for the interview process. The merit list is prepared in
descending order of the marks obtained by candidates after the interview
process is complete. The final selection is based on how well you do in your
interview.

RBI Grade B Exam Cut Off
The cut off for RBI Grade B 2023
Exam will be released after each phase of the examination is completed. The
cut-off for the Phase-I exam will be released first followed by the cut off for
