Steps to fill TNPSC Group 1 Application Form

Candidates are advised to follow the following steps to complete the online application much before the last date. The last date to apply online for the TNPSC Group 1 exam is 22nd August 2022.

Step I: You can go to the official website of TNPSC to apply online or click on the direct link mentioned below to apply online, once it is active.

Step II: A page will be opened where you will get the registration and login form.

Step III: Enter the required details in the form and Upload your Photo and signature.

Step IV: After that Fill in your communication address and Upload your Photo and signature.

Step V: Before submitting the form, preview your details.

Step VI: Pay your fee through Debit/ Credit card/ Net Banking/ E-Challan if applicable.

Step VII: Click on submit and Your form will be submitted successfully.

Step VIII: Your Online TNPSC Group 1 application process is completed and you can take a printout of the application form for further use

TNPSC Group 1 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The applicants must fulfill the below discussed TNPSC Group 1 2022 Eligibility Criteria as per the respective posts. Check the education qualification & age limit

Applicants should possess a degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or any other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

Preference shall be given to candidates who possess National awards for Physical efficiency.

Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes)

1st preference- A degree both in Commerce and Law together with a Diploma in Taxation laws.

3rd preference- A degree either in Commerce or Law together with a Diploma in Taxation laws.

4th preference- A degree either in Commerce or Law.

District Employment Officer

Graduates in Economics / Education / Sociology / Statistics or Psychology

Assistant Director of Rural Development Department

Note: The applicants, who have written the final year degree examination, may also apply for the Preliminary Examination for direct recruitment to the posts included in Combined Civil Services-I (Group-I Services), subject to the condition that they should produce proof of having passed the degree examination while uploading the original documents for the Main Written Examination (the last date for this activity would be announced later) failing which they will not be admitted to the Main Written Examination.

Physical Qualification

Applicants applying for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category I) posts must possess the following Physical Qualifications:-

TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process 2022

The selection TNPSC Group 1 exam 2022 will be done on the basis of the following sequence: 

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Interview (Oral Test)

TNPSC Group 1 2022 Exam Pattern

The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination (ii) Main Written Examination and (iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview. TNPSC Group 1 exam has two written papers, Prelims, and Mains. Prelims consist of Multiple Choice Questions whereas Mains has descriptive questions. The pattern for each exam has been discussed below.

All the questions are objective. There is no negative marking for a wrong answer. The complete paper is 300 marks. Each question weighs 1.5 marks.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern

Each paper has descriptive questions and the right answers are marked subjectively by the examiners. The number of questions varies in each chapter and tests the candidate’s knowledge across several domains.

The Main Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%- i.e., 40 marks] in Paper-I and the marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking.
